Crash in Neversink leaves Liberty man dead

On Wednesday December 14th shortly after 7:00am, State Police from the Liberty barracks responded to a report of a head-on collision on State Route 55 in the Town of Neversink. A 2006 Lincoln, operated by Derrick Yerkes, age 34 of Liberty was traveling westbound and drifted into the eastbound lane, striking a 2016 Toyota driven by Cheryl Bertholf, age 56 of Loch Sheldrake. Yerkes was pronounced deceased at the scene. Bertholf was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center and is being treated for rib fractures and fractured vertebrae.

Truck crash in Delhi spills cream and fuel oil into Platner Brook

At approximately 7:30 a.m. Wednesday morning Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies and members of the Delhi Fire Department responded to a personal injury tractor trailer rollover accident on County Route 16 in the Town of Delhi that resulted in the closure of that roadway for several hours.

Schoharie News to buy Stamford's Mountain Eagle

The Schoharie News, a local newspaper that launched in 2013 as an online-only news site, announced this week that they are in the process of buying the 34-year-old Mountain Eagle, a print newsweekly based in the Delaware County town of Stamford.

Police: Jefferson man used church to abuse teenage boys

State Police arrested Jonathan M. Luce, 51, from the Town of Jefferson for charges related to the sexual abuse of teenage boys. He was charged with 1 count of Criminal Sex Act 2nd (felony), 1 count of Sexual Misconduct (misdemeanor), 1 count of Sex Abuse 2nd (misdemeanor) and 1 count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (misdemeanor).

New York State grants $18.7 million to Catskills projects
