Vinyasa Flow Yoga Class

Runs four Wednesdays, June 5, 12, 19, and 26, from 5:30-6:45PM and is taught by Nancy Forstbauer from Stargayzeryoga Studio in Stamford. This is yoga for all levels and age groups. Vinyasa Yoga is characterized by a focus on a dynamic connecting posture that creates a flow between the more static traditional yoga postures. Blocks and straps provided, mats available or you can bring your own. Nancy Forstbauer took her first yoga class at age 18, and has been practicing and teaching yoga ever since.  Read more

The Poetry Workshop

The Poetry Workshop is taught by writer Margot Farrington. It takes place on four Thursdays, June 6, 13, 20, and 27, from 6:30-9:00PM. This workshop is for ages 18 and up and welcomes both new and experienced writers, including those who may have written in other genres and those wishing to broaden or begin their writing experience with poetry. The Belly/Bolly/Henna Workshop

The Belly/Bolly/Henna Workshop is taught by Jo Boring and runs four Mondays, June 3, 10, 17, and 24, from 5:30-6:30PM. This combo belly dance and Bollywood dance workshop is geared for anyone, any age, in any shape and any degree of fitness. Egyptian and Indian music, coin sashes, ankle bells, and other adornments will be provided. In the last class, authentic henna designs will be applied to hands, face, and feet. Jo Boring is a member of the local performance troupe “B3 Belly Dance” which has been performing together since 2007.  Read more

Catskills CRAFT Season Kick-Off with EcoPracticum May 30

On Thursday, May 30, the Catskills Collaborative Regional Alliance for Farmer Training (CRAFT) group will meet with the participants of the EcoPracticum Program at 7 p.m. at Channery Hill Farm in Callicoon Center, NY. Catskills CRAFT is an educational networking group for beginning and mentoring farmers. Gardeners, farm interns, employees and operators are also welcome to attend the event.

EcoPracticum is a summer environmental education and action program that attracts enthusiastic, passionate and intelligent college-aged students to the Catskills to farm, meet with environmental experts in the field, and engage critically with the region's most pressing issues. Channery Hill is a small family-owned farm that grows vegetables and raises livestock.  Read more

More Portrait Subjects Announced for RECORD BREAKER Opening at Orphic Gallery

 

Artist Greg Frederick has announced more of the subjects of his stunning portraits for his opening at the Orphic Gallery next Saturday, May 25th, and it reads like a veritable pantheon of rock & roll and popular music for the last 60 years.  These portraits, meticulously crafted from recycled vinyl, will compose the main exhibit in the central exhibition space of the gallery.  Believe it or not, there will be additional portraits on display in ante-rooms of the Orphic Gallery.  You can expect further names to be revealed in the near future.
