GREG FREDERICK ANNOUNCES PORTRAIT SUBJECTS FOR RECORD BREAKER AT ORPHIC GALLERY

David Bowie by Greg Frederick

For the Record Breaker opening at the Orphic Gallery on Saturday May 25th Greg Frederick has announced a partial list of the subjects of his extraordinary portraits fashioned from actual shards of vinyl LPs and 45s.  This list contains a fascinating array of artists; Woodstock musicians – both current legends and mythical performers from the festival are present in strong numbers.

The artists announced by Mr. Frederick today include:  David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Kate Pierson, Gail Ann Dorsey, Tony Levin, Graham Parker, John Sebastian and Levon Helm.  Also on display at the show (but not for sale!) will be a portrait of Zonder Kennedy from Hamden commissioned by his wife Lata.  Remarkably, this represents a small sample of the work Greg Frederick will be presenting to the public at the Record Breaker exhibit.  More subjects will be announced in the near future.  Read more
