Police: Arkville man arrested for assault with baseball bat and "large wooden cross"

This just in from the Delaware County Sheriff's Office: Twenty-four-year-old Aaron J. Scudder of Arkville was arrested yesterday for allegedly assaulting another person in a domestic dispute with a metal baseball bat and a big wooden cross. A child was allegedly present during the altercation. Scudder has been sent to Delaware County Correctional Facility.

On 9/8/11 Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Aaron J. Scudder , 24 years of age of Arkville on charges of Menacing 2nd, Assault 3rd, Criminal Mischief 4th and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. It is alleged that during the course of a domestic dispute with a small child present Scudder caused physical injury to another person and menaced such other person with a metal baseball bat and large wooden cross. It is also alleged that when a family member attempted to call for law enforcement assistance, Scudder attempted to damage the telephone so no calls could be immediately made. Scudder was arraigned before Town of Middletown Justice Gary Rosa and remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility on $1,000 cash bail/$2,000 bail bond. Scudder is to re-appear at court on 10/18/11 at 11am. Deputies were assisted by NYSP Margaretville.
