Arkville teenager killed in car crash

The Times Herald-Record and the Daily Freeman report that 19-year-old Jordan Soderback was killed in a car crash in Olive yesterday, in which the driver has been charged with DUI. From the THR:

Erica Miller, 31, was driving under the influence of prescription medications on Route 28 east of De Silva Road in the Town of Olive. Deputies say she approached slower moving cars, swerved into the westbound lane to avoid a collision, lost control and struck a guardrail, causing the car to flip over the rail and on its roof.

Soderback was thrown from the rear seat and pronounced dead at the scene.

Miller and the car's other passengers -- Shawn Scudder, Diane Fairbairn, and Miller's five-year-old daughter -- were treated at Kingston Hospital and released.
