The Watershed Post featured in a video about Delaware County entrepreneurs

From our shameless self-promotion department: Delaware County Economic Development is sponsoring a series of videos about startup businesses shot by Hamden filmmaker Jessica Vecchione.

Jessica asked us to be one of three web-based businesses (along with Aisle 8 and IndiePay in Delhi) featured in the first installation of "EntrepreneurZone," which just came out today. Check it out, above. (And please excuse our messy house!) 

We had a great time getting interviewed about journalism, bootstrapping, and the perks of starting a business in the rural Catskills. One note: Lissa Harris, our editor, is a shareholder of the Margaretville Telephone Company, which provides our internet service and which makes our web-based business possible. We gave them some love in the interivew.

This weekend : FILMING at Tay Home !

This weekend ( Friday - Sat , June 7 & 8th ) a filming crew from Voice of America, an American international radio and television network will be visiting Nini Ordoubadi , owner of Tay Home , at her shop in Andes to conduct an interview and a shoot a short film. The shoot will begin at mid day friday and resume on sat about the same time .

(VOA provides a wide range of programming for broadcast on radio and TV and the Internet outside of the U.S. in 43 languages. VOA produces about 1,500 hours of news and feature programming each week for an estimated global audience of 123 million people.)

Interestingly enough the journalist / interviewer is none other than the talented Ms. Melody Safavi , the lead singer of ABJEEZ , the popular persian / swedish band!

Saturday Lunch All Summer Long with Outdoor Seating, Live Music Sunday Night

Great news!

Starting this Saturday, June 8th, and continuing all summer long, we're serving lunch beginning at 11am until 3pm. Perhaps even better, now we have outside seating available that overlooks the gorgeous stream behind Hogan's. The outdoor seating is by reservation only as space is limited, and we do require a minimum party of 4. So, call your friends, call us, and enjoy a sangria in the sun!  

This Sunday, the 9th, Connie Mohar the Accordionist will be joining us again for Dinner. Bring your music requests!

Spring Vegetable Galette, Hanger Steak, Rhubarb Sponge Cake

What's good tonight:

The Spring Vegetable Galette is a mix of broccolini, mushrooms, asparagus, fiddleheads, and Dirty Girl goat cheese in a little pie. Tasty stuff and sized just right for an appetizer. 

Hanger Steak is prized for its flavor. We serve it with chimmichurri and house-cut fries.

The sweet tooth in me is most excited about our Rhubarb Sponge Cake. The cake is served with strawberries and a rhubarb compote, along with fresh whipped cream -- a perfect end to a fantastic dinner!

The accordion stylings of Connie Mohar, and Memorial Day hours

This is a great night to mosey on over to The Backroom for sunday dinner: We're featuring the accordion stylings of Connie Mohar! He plays most genres of music, takes requests, and drives a sweet purple Charger.

What's new? The Eggplant Napoleon -- layers of fried eggplant, mozzarella, and tomato served with buttered pasta. If Eggplant isn't your thing, you could even have our Backroom Burger with tilsit cheese and Gladstone beef.

What are your plans for Memorial Day? We're open for lunch tomorrow from 11am to 3pm, serving Ma Gee's Fried Chicken, Kansas City Spare Ribs, and burgers.

The Kansas City Style Burnt Ends features double smoked brisket with house BBQ sauce, grits, and collard greens! Perfect to celebrate Memorial Day Weekend!

Our Moroccan Lamb is delicious and tender -- lamb stew with, yogurt, eggplant, and a spice blend served over saffron rice. Delicious, and not your every day sort of fare.

We have quite a bit of reservations tonight, so be sure to call ahead! We are still taking reservations for tomorrow's brunch and dinner, too!
