Windham Mountain employee arrested for theft and coverup, police say

A 33-year-old employee of Windham Mountain Ski Resort was arrested on Friday, Feb. 20 for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars from the Greene County ski mountain, according to a New York State Police press release

Jessica L. Greene, who is listed on Windham Mountain's website as the sales manager for season passes, tickets and lockers, is being charged with grand larceny in the third degree, a class D felony that applies in thefts of amounts between $3,000 and $50,000.

Greene reportedly skimmed funds from the ski resort by diverting gift cards and checks into her personal business account, according to the press release. She also allegedly attempted to cover her tracks by falsifying the ski center's business records.

A call to a State Police spokesman was not immediately returned.

Chip Seamans, Windham Mountain's general manager, said that he could not comment on the details of the case.

"We're cooperating with the investigation," he said.

Seamans said that Greene is no longer employed at the ski resort.

Greene has been charged with forgery, computer tampering, computer trespassing and grand larceny in the third degree, all felonies. She was also charged with falsifying business records and scheme to defraud, both misdemeanors.

Greene was arraigned in the Village of Tannersville court by Judge Noreen Valcich and then released pending a hearing date in the town of Windham Court on Wednesday, Feb. 25, police say.
