Two West Hurley residents charged with Woodstock burglaries

State police have arrested two West Hurley residents in connection with a string of burglaries at homes in Woodstock. On Sunday, 24-year-old Mark D. Vandendooren and 23-year-old Kasandra M. Quednau were taken into custody.

Police say the pair committed daytime burglaries at three unoccupied homes in Woodstock. When arrested, Quednau also possessed a hypodermic syringe and a small amount of a narcotic drug.

Vandendooren is charged with three counts of second-degree burglary, a felony charge. Quednau is charged with two counts of second-degree burglary, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument.

The two were arraigned before Woodstock town justice Richard Husted and committed to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $30,000 cash bail or $60,000 bond.

New York State State Police were assisted by the Town of Woodstock Police Department. An investigation is continuing into the possible commission of other burglaries in the area. The suspects were operating a gray Hyundai two-door sedan at the time of the burglaries.
