A road trip through downstate gas shortages

Headed downstate? Gas up before you go.

On Wednesday afternoon, local filmmaker Jessica Vecchione captured footage for this sped-up film of a drive from upstate New York to New Jersey, via the New York State Thruway, NJ-17 and the Garden State Parkway. Along the way, she finds evidence of plenty of closed gas stations, and long lines of cars waiting to fuel up at the few stations still open.
