Kingston man charged with engaging in sexual acts with a 5-year-old

A 33-year-old Kingston man was arrested earlier this week and charged with engaging in sexual acts with a 5-year-old girl.

Rudolph “Rudy” Robinson was arrested on Monday and charged with criminal sexual act in the first degree, sexual abuse in the first degree and endangering the welfare of a child, according to a New York State Police press release.

Police investigated an allegation that Robinson had engaged in sexual contact with the child, which led to the involvement of the Ulster County Family Violence Unit.

On Monday, Robinson was arraigned in the town of Ulster and sent to the Ulster County Jail on $50,000 bail or $100,000 bond. He was scheduled to appear in the Town of Ulster Court at 1pm on Wednesday, August 8.

The case has been referred to the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office Special Victims Bureau.
