What crop is best harvested in the middle of winter? For the answer, come out to the Ice Harvest at Hanford Mills Museum, Saturday, February 4, 10 am-4 pm, County Hwy 12, East Meredith. Festival features interactive ice harvesting on the mill pond, ice fishing and ice sculpting demonstrations, children’s activities, horse-drawn sleigh rides, and a hot soup buffet. Due to the warm weather all admissions will be free. Museum members free. Festival features interactive ice harvesting on the mill pond, ice fishing demonstrations, children’s activities, horse-drawn sleigh rides, bonfires, and a hot soup buffet. Also, hand-knit hats and mittens for sale, and woodstove cooking demonstrations.

Ice harvests were community events for decades in this region, we recreate this tradition at Ice Harvest, and will use the ice July 4th to make ice cream.

Hanford Mills Museum is located at 51 County Hwy 12, at the intersection of Delaware County Routes 10 & 12 in East Meredith, NY.
