DuMond will temporarily fill Stop DWI position

In today's Daily Star, Patricia Breakey reports that the Delaware County Board of Supervisors has found an interim occupant for the position of Stop DWI coordinator left vacant after the controversial dismissal of Lisa Barrows last month.

Barrows's job will be done by Masonville town supervisor Craig DuMond, who, as the chairman of the county's public safety committee, oversaw Barrows in the position and once heartliy endorsed her performance.

In today's story, Breakey quotes DuMond accepting the temporary position at yesterday's county Board of Supervisors meeting, the first of 2011:

DuMond said he would fill the position for 60 to 90 days while the Public Safety Committee investigates the future of the program and comes up with someone to name as STOP-DWI coordinator. "I volunteered as the chairman of the Public Safety Committee," DuMond said. "I am getting no compensation, and I will put in as much work as needed to keep the program running at the level it was functioning at."
