The results are in from most of the region's village elections. Here's a roundup:

In Fleischmanns, the newly-reelected (and unopposed) village trustee Ben Fenton emailed us yesterday about the village's use of old-fashioned paper ballots and a "big metal box." (See photo above.) The results of the election, according to the Fleischmanns Facebook page:

The votes are in, and Dave Morell has been re-elected mayor. Todd Pascarella and Ben Fenton have been elected trustees.

In Sidney, deputy mayor Andrew Matviak beat Jacqlene Rose to win the mayor's seat, the Daily Star reports. In Hobart, the paper reports, incumbent Aaron Kaufman won the mayor's seat over former mayor Kenneth Brockway.

In Tannersville, the Watchful Eye party proved watchful enough to keep two incumbents in office, according to the Daily Mail:

Incumbent Mayor Lee McGunnigle easily defeated newcomer Jason Dugo 98-59 and won a new term in office ... In the three-way race for two seats on the board of trustees, incumbent Gregory Landers and newcomer Christopher Hack were winners with 112 and 69 votes, respectively.

In Liberty, the incumbent mayor won re-election, and voters ruled that the village court should be abolished, according to the Times Herald-Record.

In Walton, incumbents didn't fare so well, WBNG reports:

In the Village of Walton, incumbent Mayor Ed Snow was unseated by Trustee Patrick Meredith by a total of 189 to 165.

As Mayor, Meredith now has the power to appoint anyone of his choosing to fill the Trustee position he is giving up.

And in the race for 2 other village Trustee positions, only one incumbent kept her seat.

James Bell got the highest amount of votes, unseating Denise Church.

Deputy Mayor Theresa O'Leary keeps her position on the board after receiving 271 votes.

Saugerties' village trustee race saw the election of one incumbent and two newcomers, the Daily Freeman reports.

WBNG, the Daily Freeman, the Times Herald-Record, and the Daily Star all have more data on local election results.
