Staties nab two sets of burglars in Mamakating, one with help of resident hiding in bathroom

New York State Police report that they've arrested two sets of burglars that were caught in the act of robbing homes in the town of Mamakating on Sunday and yesterday. The first pair, 26-year-old Erin M. Peters and 35-year-old Joseph Francis Feuerstack from Liberty, were allegedly robbing a residence on South Shore Drive in Wurtsboro on Sunday afternoon when the police arrived. Tips from neighbors led to their arrest later that evening in Liberty.

Then yesterday morning, the owner of a house on Bronner Rd. in Bloomingburg called 911 to report a burglarly-in-progress. When the cops arrived, 20-year-old Joshua A. Crump and 18-year-old Derek Brown of Middletown were reportedly caught in the act while the owner was hiding in an upstairs bathroom.

The NEW YORK STATE POLICE at WURTSBORO, N. Y., announce the arrest of Erin M. Peters, 26 years old, and Joseph Francis Feuerstack, 35 years old, from various addresses in the Liberty, N. Y. area for Burglary 2nd degree (Felony), Grand Larceny 4th degree (Felony), and criminal Mischief 4th degree (Misdemeanor).

On Sunday, December 5, 2010 at 3:15PM Troopers from the Wurtsboro Barracks were dispatched to a Burglary-in-Progress to a residence on South Shore Dr., in Wurtsboro, N. Y.   Prior to the arrival of Wurtsboro State Police patrols, the perpetrators fled the scene. Responding Troopers and BCI Investigators received information from neighboring residents pertaining to the description of the perpetrators and their vehicle, which led to their identification. Later during the evening of December 5, 2010, both Peters and Feuerstack were taken into custody with the assistance of the Liberty Village Police Department.   Both were charged with the above crimes, arraigned in front of Town of Thompson Town Justice Martin Miller and both were remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without bail, pending future court action.

The NEW YORK STATE POLICE at WURTSBORO, N. Y. announce the arrest of Joshua A. Crump, 20 years of age, from Middletown, N. Y. and Derek Brown, 18 years old of Middletown, N. Y. for Burglary 2nd degree (Felony), Grand Larceny 4th degree (Felony), Possession of Burglar’s Tools (Misdemeanor) and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana (Violation).        On December 6, 2010 at 11:30am the NEW YORK STATE POLICE at WURTSBORO, N. Y. , responded to a Burglary-in Progress to an occupied residence on Bronner Rd., Bloomingburg, N. Y.   The owner of the residence observed the break in, and called Sullivan county 911 and    hid in an upstairs bathroom, until the  New York State Police arrived.     Responding Troopers and BCI Personnel apprehended Brown as he was fleeing across the side yard of the residence, and Crump was taken into custody as he was attempting to flee out the rear door of the residence. Both were in possession of stolen property from the residence.        On December 6, 2010 both Crump and Brown were arraigned in the Town of Mamakating Court and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of No Bail pending a future court appearance.\
