For the new edition of the Catskills Outdoor Guide, coming out this summer, we're holding a 2016 version of the Catskills Outdoor Guide Photo Contest, once again sponsored by the Peekamoose Restaurant & Tap Room in Big Indian.
Last year, 52 photographers entered the contest. Need inspiration? Here's a slideshow of all of last year's entries:
Winners of the contest will be featured in the 2016 Catskills Outdoor Guide, and one grand prize winner gets a $75 gift certificate to the Peekamoose.
These contests are always a blast. See your work in print, and maybe even on one of the covers of the 2016 edition of the Outdoor Guide. Spread the word! You've got until April 1 to email us the perfect shot.
Here's how the contest works:
Share photos of a Catskills outdoor experience by 11:59 p.m. on April 1, 2016. Points for photos that include people, animals and action shots, as well as bright colors. Humor and originality are always excellent, too.
To submit, your photo must:
- Be at least 2 megabytes (MB) in size
- Feature a Catskills outdoor experience
- Be sent via email to [email protected] (entries submitted any other way, including Facebook or Flickr, will not be accepted)
- Include your name, the location where it was taken, and the date it was taken
Submit your photo before 11:59 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2016. Only one entry is allowed per person.
Winners will be announced when the 2016 edition of the Catskills Outdoor Guide hits the streets, which will be at the end of May. One grand prize winner gets a a $75 gift certificate to the Peekamoose in Big Indian.
The fine print:
No purchase is necessary to enter or win this contest. Contest begins on Monday, March 21, 2016, and ends at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2016. To enter, you must be 18 and live in New York State. To enter the contest, email a photo to [email protected]. Limit one entry per person. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. Contestants grant the Watershed Post and the Catskills Outdoor Guide the right to publish their photos and their names in print and online. Entry must be the original work of the contestant, must not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, rights of privacy, publicity or other intellectual property or other rights of any person and must not violate any law. We reserve the right to disqualify any entry for any reason. All entries will be judged based on judges’ determination of creativity, wittiness, and beauty. The top scoring entry will be declared the contest winner. The prize — a gift certificate to the Peekamoose Restaurant & Tap Room in Big Indian — is worth $75. The winner will be notified by email and will be provided with instructions for redeeming the prize.
