July 7, 2012 - 8:00pm

The Spinners, will roll out their repertoire of timeless hits to get the Belleayre Music Festival 2012 season off to a roaring start. The Spinners put the "S" in soul and their irresistible beats are remix favorites for many DJs, including Fatboy Slim.

The Spinners' classic group sound remains universally appealing more than five decades after the band burst onto the pop and R&B charts. The group has garnered 12 gold records on the strength of hit singles like "I'll Be Around," "Could It Be I'm Falling in Love?" "Working My Way Back to You," "Rubberband Man," and "One of a Kind (Love Affair)."

Today, original members Bobbie Smith and Henry Fambrough are joined onstage by lead singer Charlton Washington, Jessie Peck and Marvin Taylor, with backing by a soul-infused five-piece band.

The mighty Spinners have six Grammy nominations and have performed twice during the awards ceremony. They received a Black Gold Award from Dick Clark for their many achievements in the recording industry, and they have been presented with the Rhythm and Blues Foundation Award for their contribution to R & B.

The group has performed for presidents, received a star on the Hollywood "Walk of Fame," and has appeared in numerous television specials.
