Pipe down, Woodstock

The Freeman reports that the Woodstock Town Board has renewed a policy that empowers the Board to discourage general municipal mayhem, in order to "keep town meetings from becoming debate sessions among members of the audience and extending past midnight."

Included in the policy is a requirement that public comments be addressed to the Town Board and “not to other members of the audience.” The audience would also be prohibited from “any demonstration, booing, hand clapping or otherwise disrupt the formality” of meetings.
