Lucky Dog Farm to open restaurant in Hamden Inn

The town of Hamden in Delaware County will soon see a local landmark made new: The Hamden Inn, which has been bought by the nearby Lucky Dog Farm Store and Cafe, will open as a restaurant and bar this spring. Longer-term plans are in the works to re-open the venue as an inn as well.

Our video correspondent Jessica Vecchione recently interviewed Holley White, the owner of Lucky Dog Farm Store and Cafe (which is, full disclosure, a Watershed Post advertiser), about her plans for the local landmark. You can watch the video below.

A few tidbits about the plans for the Inn's renaissance: Executive Chef David Lee Black plans to serve organic German and French cuisine that is "not too pretentious" and is totally organic. Lucky Dog farm, located across the street, will supply much of the food that is served, so it's possible that a potato will be in the ground in the morning and on a plate by dinnertime. Funding for the project has been provided by Delaware County Economic Development and the Catskill Watershed Corporation. (The CWC which approved a $240,000 loan for the project in October.)
