Humble signs, high style
1/6/11 - 4:04 pm
What happens when a designer goes on a road trip through Ulster County? She falls in love with the fonts on the signs.
Yesterday, Gail Anderson, who sits on the board of directors of the Society of Publication Designers, shared the photographic fruits of a recent journey along Rte. 28 with fellow design-heads on GRIDS, the official blog of the SPD.
Anderson was particularly taken with the fonts used by Margo's Hungarian German Restaurant in Shandaken, a vintage Frigidaire sign in Kingston, and the awesome sign for Hoe Bowl on the Hill bowling alley in Kingston. To see all her photos from the jaunt, click here.
