Graffiti in the park

Andes Town Supervisor Marty Donnelly tipped us off to an act of vandalism in his town's Ballatine Park last week. It seems that several people decided to gouge their names into a stone obelisk that stands near the southern edge of the park. Today, I was able to get down to the park to get some photos, which you can see above and below. Joanna, Nathan, Tory, Randy and Rob should really think twice before defacing public property.

"I think it's a disgrace and it's an awful abuse of a wonderful treasure that we have in Andes," said Donnelly, who is also a trustee of the park.

This isn't the first appearance of graffiti in Andes, a tiny town of 1200. Last year, taggers defaced rocks and sidewalk along Rte. 28.
