Stabbing in South Kortright drug treatment center

Last Thursday, 51-year-old Albert Fleming, from Brooklyn, was arrested for stabbing an unnamed 23-year-old at Phoenix House, a drug treatment center in South Kortright. From the Delaware County Sheriff's Office:

On Thursday evening Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a 51 year old Brooklyn, NY man following their investigation of a stabbing at the Phoenix House in South Kortright.

Albert Fleming was arrested and charged with Assault in the Second Degree, a class D felony, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, a class A misdemeanor.

Fleming is accused of stabbing a 23 year old male Phoenix House resident during an altercation in the facility dining hall. The victim, who suffered a single puncture wound to his back in the area of his left shoulder, was transported to O’Connor Hospital, Delhi, for treatment.

Fleming was arraigned in Town of Stamford Court and remanded to the Delaware County Jail in lieu of $3000.00 cash bail pending a felony hearing scheduled for September 28th.
