More questions than answers in Oneonta murder case

***Update: The Daily Star is reporting that court documents filed by the Oneonta Police Department allege that Sprague was attempting to rape Ridge.

An Oneonta man has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of Sonja Ridge, 26, in the early hours of Saturday morning. The Daily Star has the story:

Sonja N. Ridge, who worked at Covidien in Hobart, died from a head injury, according to Police Chief Joseph Redmond.

Her alleged assailant was William A. Sprague III, 27, of Oneonta, who was arraigned Sunday afternoon on a second-degree murder charge and sent to Otsego County jail without bail.

But Redmond was mum on a motive or if a weapon was used in an attack, believed to have occurred sometime before 3:15 a.m. Saturday.
