Antique arsenal pilfered in Hamden

A homeowner in Hamden is missing a collection of antique powder horns, flasks, and other historical paraphernalia, some of them dating back to the 1700s, according to a press release issued today by the Delaware County Sheriff's Office. The release:

The Delaware County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a recently reported burglary that occurred at a residence located on Crawford Road in the Town of Hamden between mid-February and late May of this year.  Crawford Road is located of Launt Hollow Road in Hamden.

The homeowner has reported the theft of a collection of antique powder horns, metal (brass) black powder flasks, soft leather ball/shot bags, antique Native American arrow heads and silver coins such as Morgan and Peace dollars.  Some of the stolen items are reported to date back to the late 1700’s. 

Deputies are asking anyone who may have information concerning the theft of these items or have come in contact with any items of this nature to contact Deputy Derek Bowie at (607) 746-2336, Ext. 363.

No word on why it took the homeowner so long to report the theft.
