Hudson Valley Harvest Festival to Benefit Two of the County’s Leading Not-For-Profit Agencies

“A family festival to promote and celebrate agriculture in the Hudson Valley”

New Paltz, NY - Come celebrate Ulster County’s nearly 85,000 acres of fertile farmland and the magnificent bounty it yields at the first annual Hudson Valley Harvest Festival! The festival will be two days of food, fun and music and held on Saturday, September 22 and Sunday, September 23, 2012 at the Ulster County Fair Grounds located at 249 Libertyville Road in New Paltz, NY. Adult admission is $5, ages 5-12 is $3 and ages 4 and under are FREE. Gates will open each day at 10:00am. Gate will close at 6:00pm on Saturday and 3:00pm on Sunday.

This family oriented event will feature a broad array of locally grown and produced foods, vendors, arts and crafts, great musical entertainment, livestock, fun activities for all ages and so much more! All admission proceeds from this very special event will support two of Ulster County’s leading not-for-profit agencies, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ulster County and Family of Woodstock Inc.

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ulster County connects research-based information with a wide range of community needs, providing educational approaches and practical solutions to issues related to agriculture, nutrition and health, child and family development, commercial and consumer horticulture, youth development, and the environment. We help growers on Ulster County’s 83,418 acres of fertile farms keep the land productive and well cared for through grower meetings, trainings, commodity schools, and research and demonstration projects.

Family of Woodstock Inc. is a lead agency in the provision of homeless, domestic violence, adolescents, crisis, emergency food and child care services. The Family 24 hour hotline and walk-in centers in Woodstock, New Paltz, Kingston and Ellenville provide extensive crisis and human services throughout Ulster County.
