Woman stabs brother in Napanoch

A Napanoch man is in critical condition today, after being stabbed by his sister during a domestic dispute. A press release from the Ulster County Sheriff's Department:

Detectives from the Ulster County Sheriff's Office report the arrest of a Napanoch woman following a violent domestic dispute late last evening.

On 4/17/11 at about 10:50 PM, deputies and troopers responded to 78 Clinton Street in Napanoch for a domestic dispute between two siblings. Upon arrival deputies found the male half of the dispute had suffered several critical stab wounds from a knife. Investigation at the scene and thereafter determined these wounds were caused by the female half of the dispute.

Donna L. Adams, 27, of the same address, was taken into custody at the scene and transported to Kingston Hospital for evaluation then released to the custody of this agency. She was then charged with the felony of Assault in the First Degree and the misdemeanor of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree. The victim was transported by helicopter to Westchester Medical Center, where he underwent surgery for his wounds. He remains in critical condition at this time. Ms. Adams was arraigned early Monday morning in Wawarsing Town Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $75,000 to reappear Wednesday afternoon.

A search warrant was also executed at the residence in furtherance of this investigation. Deputies were assisted by the New York State Police at Ellenville as well as the Forensic Investigation Unit.
