SIDNEY RESIDENTS IN THE LOWER RIVER STREET, COLEGROVE, OAK, WEINGARD, & RAILROAD AVE SECTIONS OF SIDNEY, YOU MUST EVACUATE BY 9:00 PM!!!!! THE RED CROSS SHELTER IS AVAILABLE AT ST. LUKE'S CHURCH ON UPPER WEST MAIN STREET. PASS THIS ON IF YOU KNOW OF PEOPLE IN THAT AREA!!!!

Also, he reports that he got this via email from Sidney employer MeadWestVaco:

MWV in Sidney is closing immediately. There will be NO 3rd shift this evening.
All employees are encouraged to leave the site as soon as possible, and are cautioned to be extremely careful as you navigate the roadways.

Rob Ray tells us that if WCDO is evacuated and taken off the air, he will send us updates via text message.

The Village of Sidney Mayor and Town of Sidney Supervisor have declared a State of Emergency in both municipalites due to flooding.  Both States of Emergency are effective at 6:30pm on Wednesday, September 7, 2011.  All roads in both municpalities are closed to all travel except emergency services vehicles. 

Instructions:

Monitor river levels and be aware of flooding.  Don't drive through flooded roadways.  Be alert to rising water and prepare to evacuate if conditions worsen.
