Death at Sullivan County jail

45-year-old Kerry Castello, who was facing charges related to a string of armed robberies in Massachusetts, apparently hanged himself in the Sullivan County jail on Sunday, the Mid-Hudson News reports.

When Castello was arrested on May 19, he had been a fugitive from the law for nearly a year. A recent story from the Massachusetts newspaper South Coast Today lays out the charges Castello was facing:

Castello faces a host of charges that include breaking and entering to commit a felony, receiving a stolen credit card, forgery, armed robbery, confining or putting a person in fear for the purpose of stealing, driving without a license, possession of narcotics, multiple counts of assault by means of a dangerous weapon and reckless driving.
