Watershed Post Half-Hour News Hour: Franklin's "fantastic stone castles"

This week on the Watershed Post Half-Hour News Hour, we talk with Jessica Vecchione, a Hamden-based videographer, about her new documentary, Robert. (Vecchione is a longtime Watershed Post advertiser.) 

The film, Vecchione writes, is about "a little-known artist and long-time resident of Franklin New York. In the early 90's, Robert began constructing fantastic stone castles in his small backyard." 

Robert will screen for the first time at the Skene Library in Fleischmanns on Saturday, December 3rd at 2pm.

Watershed Post Half-Hour News Hour: 2011 Election Special

We stayed up late on November 8 to cover election returns live on the internet and on the radio. The radio portion of the program was our special hour-long election edition of the Watershed Post Half-Hour News Hour, which aired from 11pm to midnight on WIOX 91.3FM and WGXC 90.7FM. With the help of Mike Teitelbaum and Rich Grape, who worked the board and the phones, we did live interviews with candidates and announced hot election results in real time.  Read more

The Watershed Post Half-Hour News Hour: Michelle MacNaught

This week on the Watershed Post Half-Hour News Hour, we talk with Michelle MacNaught, a 21-year-old DeLancey native and artist who was diagnosed with Stage IV ovarian cancer a year ago. In the year of chemotherapy and treatment that has followed, MacNaught has devoted herself to her art, making beautiful and haunting woodcuts, etching and drawings inspired by her struggle with cancer.

MacNaught's work is being exhibited in a new book, "Michelle MacNaught," and in an exhibit opening on November 15 at the Leo Koenig Inc. Projekte gallery in Manhattan.  We are honored to have her as our guest on the show today.

Update: Michelle was unable to join us for today's broadcast, although we did discuss her art and upcoming gallery show on today's show. We hope to have Michelle on as a guest on a future show soon.
