Trip to Fort William Henry and Lake George Cruise

The Delaware County Historical Association is offering a one-day bus trip on Thursday, October 1 to the picturesque Adirondack village of Lake George, NY. Travel with us first to the historic, lakeside Fort William Henry museum and enjoy a guided tour, after which we will have time to explore the fort on our own. Fort William Henry was constructed by the British in 1755 to protect the southern end of the lake from the French to the north. After the museum, we will travel a short distance for a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.

Following lunch, we will board the historic vessel The Mohican for a sightseeing cruise of the lake and its numerous islands. The Mohican’s “Islands of the Narrows Cruise” offers a leisurely trip around the many beautiful islands of the Narrows, easily the most picturesque area on the entire lake.  The captain of the Mohican narrates the places of interest along the cruise, along with information on Lake George's geology, ecology and history.  See the natural beauty of Lake George by water and see why it has been named the Queen of American Lakes.

Please join us for this wonderful fall foliage excursion! Cost: $100 DCHA members and $115 non-members (price includes bus, all admissions and lunch). Passengers may board the motor coach in Oneonta or Delhi. For further information or reservations please call: (607) 746-3849, or email: [email protected] Reservations required by September 18, 2015.
