Make Hay Sales & Marketing Seeks Marketing Coordinator

Make Hay Sales & Marketing is seeking a contract Marketing Coordinator to support the company’s growing account base.

We work together with organizations, agencies and individuals to create opportunities for viable Catskills region businesses through strategic communications. We are seeking a part-time contract Marketing Coordinator to develop and distribute content. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the region’s agricultural and tourism industries while accessing and supporting the professionals creating its future.

Qualified candidates will have excellent writing/grammar skills; be able to develop content for social media, newsletters, and other marketing tools; have basic design skills; and excel at organization and time management. The Marketing Coordinator will LOVE the Catskills, its farms, foods, back roads, and the many cultural and outdoor amenities we enjoy here.

This is a contract 10-15 hour per week position with the potential to become a full-time salaried employee with benefits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and distribute tactical communications
  • Manage websites, which includes developing and updating content
  • Create content and manage social media, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn
  • Produce e-newsletters
  • Develop marketing collateral and press outreach
  • Manage databases
  • Other duties as requested and accepted

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of communications experience, particularly in the areas of marketing and branding, social media and/or public relations  

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Pride in the work product
  • Strong writing, editing, research, speaking and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in and knowledge of farm and foods systems work and Catskills tourism amenities
  • Flexibility and a willingness to learn new technologies
  • Demonstrated competency in enewsletter applications, social media and online website builders
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and meet weekly and monthly deadlines

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:  The Communications Manager must work from a home office and provide their own laptop/computer and internet and phone connections. The home office must be located in the Catskills. There will be collaborative work days but primary work space will be that of the candidate.
