Fireworks Begin at 8:30 PM

 

The Town of Roxbury in partnership with Greater Roxbury Business Association (GRBA), the MARK Project, Roxbury Arts Group, and Roxbury Fire Department invite you to a spectacular Labor Day festivity A Blast of Roxbury, Sunday, August 31 from 4 to 9 pm. GRBA’s monthly business mixer will morph this month into a community-wide Labor Day celebration in the Town’s Historic District.

Festivities will begin at 4 pm with walking tours, and vintage horse-drawn riding tours through the Historic District. Roxbury’s Historic District has over eighty buildings and sites listed in the National Register of Historic Places – superb Victorian homes, located right on Main Street, make Roxbury one of the most beautiful towns in the region.

All eateries in town – Cassie’s Café, East Branch, Queens Mountain Café, Public Lounge, Petra Estiatorio at Shephard Hills Golf Course, and the Ate-O-Ate Gourmet Food Truck will be open, and offer picnic menus for patrons to bring in the park. Also, Roxbury Wine & Spirits store will be open, and offer a fine selection of wine and spirits – there will be a tasting at the store between 3 and 5 pm. At 6 pm The Spectacular Average Boys will start performing folk, rock and Americana songs in Kirkside Park.

The festivities will conclude at 8:30 pm with an extravagant fireworks display.  

In recent years Roxbury has seen an amazing resurgence of its Main Street businesses, and a renewed vibrancy of its communities. This is a great time to visit, and explore all the new attractions in town, meet old friends, or make new ones. Come, experience a splendid summer day in Roxbury’s Historic District on August 31, and celebrate community with neighbors, friends, and family.
