Wednesday Night’s Show: Lycoberry – From the Wild to You
It all started with one bush in the backyard. Lycoberry was founded by a husband-and-wife team who couldn’t believe that more people didn’t eat this amazing fruit that grew in their backyard– and, it turns out, in lots of backyards, fields, and roadsides across the country. FROM THE FOREST will be speaking with Lycoberryfounder & president – Orin Zelenak. Orin & his wife Susan Miller are the owners of Lycoberry – a business that makes products from autumn olive (Elaeagnus umbellate). Lycoberry claims the berries are both tasty and extremely nutritional and have the evidence to back it up. Autumn olive has a bad reputation as being invasive, but Orin & Susan would like you to know about its more positive attributes. Tune in Wednesday evening @ 6PM @ 91.3 FM orstream online @ www.wioxradio.org to learn more.
WHAT’S GOING ON IN THE FOREST?
I have been driving a lot around the Catskills lately. It seems that all the deer are just off the side of the road right now where the sun has melted the snow and revealed some vegetation to browse upon. It’s been some winter, and the deer look tired. Spring is coming… I think.
May the forest be with you,
