The Watershed Agricultural Council is featuring a different Catskills farmers' market every week during the 2013 growing season. This week's market is the Stamford Holiday Pop-Up Farmers' Market, which is happening at two locations this week: On July 4 in East Meredith, and on July 7 in Stamford. The Greater Stamford Area Chamber of Commerce (GSACC) is pleased to announce that two holiday pop-up farmers' markets will be popping up for the long Independence Day weekend.
For the first time ever, the market will pop at the Independence Day Celebration at the Hanford Mills Museum in East Meredith on Thursday, July 4. The market will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature farmers and artisans of Catskills-made products and crafts. The market will benefit the hundreds of people who attend this annual event at Hanford Mills Museum, as well as people who just want to come to shop at the market. (There is no charge to shop at the market.)
The second market will pop at the Stamford Rotary Club's 36th Annual Antique Car Show on Sunday, July 7 at the Frank W. Cyr Center, located at 159 West Main Street in the Village of Stamford. The Car Show will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The market does not start until 10 a.m. General admission to the car show, including the farmers' market, is $ 2 and children under 12 are free.
Get to know the farmers and other vendors (and GSACC members), as you shop for local flavors and hand-made goodies. Want to make sure they have what's on your shopping list? You can pre-order directly from them for pick up at the market - just get in touch with them.
Interested in being a vendor at one or both markets? GSACC is especially seeking vendors that sell Catskills-made products, from food items, crafts, art work, and more.
