Record Breaker Opening at Orphic Gallery a Smashing Success

Greg Frederick with Ramones and Rolling Stones

Greg Frederick’s Record Breaker show at the Orphic Gallery opened to rave reviews last Saturday in Roxbury.  Despite the stormy weather, a large, highly appreciative crowd attended the artist’s reception and marveled at this genuine tour de force consisting of portraits of musical luminaries from Frank Sinatra to Notorious B.I.G., all composed of recycled vinyl LPs and 45s.

Most extraordinary are the large scale works – 4x4 images of The Ramones, Rolling Stones and Michael Jackson – which Greg is showing for the first time in Roxbury.  Along with the other fifty works in the exhibit, Record Breaker is a panorama of iconic images from the rock/pop pantheon exquisitely rendered in vinyl with backgrounds of LP sleeves, newspaper articles or simply painted surfaces.

Record Breaker will be up at the Orphic Gallery until June 30th and truly must be seen in person to be believed.  There will be a closing celebration for the exhibit on Saturday, June 29th with live entertainment.  Stay tuned for further details on what promises to be another stellar evening in Roxbury.

The Orphic Gallery is located at The Roxbury Corner Store Building at 53525 State Highway 30, at the corner of Main and Bridge Streets in Roxbury, New York.  For further information, please see vinylpopart.com and orphicgallery.com, or call the gallery at 607-326-6045.
