Farm Tour Saturday and last chance for February Chicken Box Special

Hi,

This Saturday, February 23, John will lead a tour of our farm animals in their winter quarters.  Sheep, goats, llamas, alpaca, donkey, laying hens, guinea hens and geese!  John will ferry you to the barn and the winter yard in the back of our pickup truck, set up with bales of hay for you to sit on.  Reservations a must!  Meet at the farm store at 11am.  Honey hot chocolate after!

Last Chance!
Time to get your February Special Ben Franklin Chicken Box is running out!  One Ben Franklin or $100 for a value of over $130 of our pastured chicken.

Each box will contain:
2 whole chickens ranging 4-5 pounds
4 "airline " breasts (with a wing, on the bone)
4 full legs (thigh and drumstick together)
1 package of boneless breasts (two or one large)
Your choice of a package of wings or Herbes de Provence Chicken Sausage

Let us know which you want ... wings or sausage, and we'll get it ready for you!

Thinking about St. Patrick's Day and Corned Beef!
It's almost March, and time to plan all things Irish!  We take our grassfed beef and brine it to make the most delicious corned beef ...  with no added nitrates, no preservatives, no artificial colors or flavoring.  So good!

You can order it two ways.  The cut can be the traditional brisket, rich with streaks of fat, or a leaner bottom round.  Let me know which cut you want, what size, when you plan to cook it and when you want to pick it up.  I will brine it to your order. You can pick it here Saturday, March 9, or March 16, the day before St. Patrick's Day, Sunday, March 17.  You can also pick it up Sunday, March 10 at the Saugerties Farmers market.

You will get the brined cut in a bag with extra brine to keep it until you are ready to cook it.  I add a packet of spices and cooking instructions for the final step.  $10/lb.

Order now!  Let me know.  I need to start bringing soon, and I'd appreciate knowing before Monday, March 4th (the latest) what you want. E-mail, call or come on by this Saturday!

We don't stop there, however, to celebrate our heritage.  We have our own honey mustards, smooth and whole grain, and Irish bangers.  I make a special batch of chocolate honey truffles ... with Bailey's Irish Cream.  And you can order traditional Irish brown bread that I make here, or Irish soda bread, that our Potter Hollow neighbor, Kim Aloisi, makes.

Recipes for your Irish Celebration
We have copies of great recipes that we've highlighted here over the years that you can take with you ... Colcannon, Boxty, Bangers and Mash, and more.  Get traditional!  It's the holiday when everyone is Irish...
