Last Chance to View: Bob Wyer’s Delaware County: Photographs From the Mid- 20th Century

There are now just two more weeks left to view the stunning exhibit of never-before-seen photographs featuring the photography of Delaware County photojournalist Bob Wyer (1908-1982). Due to the enthusiastic response of the public, the Delaware County Historical Association has extended the exhibit until the end of February 2013.

Beginning in the 1930s and continuing well into the 1970s, Bob Wyer photographed a wide range of life’s activities, including school groups, graduating seniors, stores, hotels, farms and businesses, thereby providing us with a remarkably broad documentation of life here in the Catskills. As a staff photographer for the Oneonta Star, Wyer was often also on hand to document accidents, fires and even, in a few instances, murders. Images from his years as both a free-lancer and as a paid photojournalist make up the exhibit of close to 100 photographs.

The exhibition hours are: Monday through Friday 10am – 4pm. Free admission. The last day to view the exhibit is Thursday, February 28.
