The Catskill Mountain Artisans Guild in collaboration with the Kids in the Kaatskills will be presenting, once again this year, a children’s “Holiday Gift Making Fair” on Sat. Nov. 24 from 11am - 3 pm throughout the Commons Building, Main Street, Margaretville as part of the multitude of fun, family friendly events planned for the kick off of the holiday season.

Artists from both the Longyear Gallery and the Artisans Guild will be on hand to help children create more a variety of traditional hand made gifts. “This is becoming an annual event” says Jill Cline, Director of the Guild. “More than 400 crafts were made last year and families really look forward to this event”. Gift making crafts include window stars, clove oranges, nut angels, potpourri bags, snow flake ornaments, beeswax candles, pinecone birdfeeders and more. They will also be able to create stamped cards and have their gifts wrapped and ready to give for the holidays.

The Guild is asking participating families to bring unwrapped toys for children ages 1-12yrs for a community effort lead by the Binnekill Business Council, Long Woods Business Association of Roxbury, Andes Works and Fleischmanns First to help “Toys for Tots” who suffered severe losses by Hurricane Sandy.

The “Gift Making Fair” is presented by the Catskill Mountain Artisans Guild with funding from the “Kids in the Kaatskills”. Events are free of charge and refreshments will be available.  For info, visit www.catsguild.org or call 845-586-3443.
