Reservations for the Pig Roast, Fresh Chicken & Chicken Sausage

Hi,
Make your reservation now for our end-of-the cafe season Pig Roast! Sunday, October 7.  Pitmaster Clint Layne will have his giant roaster here again, cooking up our fresh heritage pork (see photo below).  Fall foliage should be at its peak.  We'll be serving from 12 noon to 3pm.  $20 includes pork, sides, beverage and dessert.

Chicken Countdown!
This weekend, September 22-23, the store and cafe will be open from 11am-3pm as usual.  Fresh chicken will be in the cooler.  This weekend and next weekend are the last weekends for fresh chicken.  Come and get 'em!  We will have frozen chicken, whole and parts available after that.

Chicken Sausage
Christine and I are planning to make Herbes de Provence chicken sausage today, so it will be available for the first time this season! On the Cafe menu, too!

Mushrooms and Garlic
We have mushrooms from Bulich's Mushroom Farm in Catskill, and new garlic from Cook Family Farm.  Lots of cheeses, jams and maple syrup, as well as a full supply of frozen meats and chicken.

Sides of Pork or Beef
Coming up soon, fresh pork (Sept. 29) and fresh beef (Oct. 13).  If you are interested in a side of either, contact me ASAP.  If you want a special cut reserved for you, speak up!

CSA Subscription Boxes
If you ordered the five month chicken or meat CSA subscription box, this is the weekend to pick it up!  This is the final installment of the fine-month program.  If you wish to continue and convert to the 12-month program, it is easy to work out.  Let me know.

Have you reserved your Thanksgiving turkey yet?
Our chicken processor has rolled back his processing price on the chickens (hallelujah!), so we won't raise the price on them after all.  But the price of feed continues to rise.  Order your turkey now and lock in the price.  I may have to raise the turkey price for later orders.

Bees Knees Cafe
We will have our regular menus this weekend  (Sept. 22-23) and next weekend .(Sept. 29-30) ... full menu on Saturdays and brunch buffet on Sundays.  On Columbus Day weekend, Oct. 6-7, Saturday will be a shortened menu, and Sunday will be the Pig Roast (make your reservations now!)  Starting Oct. 13, we are open Saturdays only, with the "Soup Kitchen."

This weekend:
Cream of Mushroom Soup - locally raised mushrooms in cream and our chicken stock.
Greek Beef Stew - tender chunks of our grassfed beef in a cinnamony sauce with raisins and small onions over rice
Chicken Sausage Panini - with sauteed peppers, mushrooms and onions
Lamb Gyros - patties of our grassfed ground lamb in pita with tomatoes and cucumbers, and a minty yogurt sauce
Roasted Vegetable and Cheese Panini - with eggplant, squash and Harpersfield Cheese
