This very special dinner will be prepared by members of the Naksh-i'bendi Sufi Center. The Sufi Center, or dergah, is located just outside of the hamlet of Sidney Center and was established in 2002. The Sufi members follow the teachings of the Osmanli Nakshibendi Sufi Tradition based on the traditions of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings Upon Him) and his spiritual inheritors. They are followers of Sheykh Abdul Kerim el Kibrisi el Rabbani.

"A Taste of Turkey" Dinner will include delectable Turkish favorites from the rich cultural history of the Ottoman Empire that ruled for over 800 years over 3 continents. The cuisine represents the most flavorful aspects of the food of the many cultures which were in the Ottoman Empire. The meal will include “Etli Turlu,” a vegetable and beef stew, lentil soup, salad, homemade yogurt and Turkish sweets for dessert. Also, the  Naksh-i'bendi Sufi members will perform classical Ottoman Music using traditional instruments during the dinner.
