Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds June 24, Sunday,7 PM

Sultry funk, blues & rock under the stars

They’ve left their DelawareCounty hometown nest and are soaring! Within six months of their 2010 debutrelease, Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds had opened for the Black Keys, the Neville Brothers,
Dr. John, the Rebirth Brass Band, and the Soul Rebels Brass Band. ArleighKincheloe’s raspy and bluesy voice on the band’s second release, “Pound ofDirt,” has been compared to that of Adele and Amy Winehouse; her brotherJackson (harmonica) leads the multi-talented nine-piece band. USA Today recently chose their song“Make it Rain” as a playlist pick. Their sound “ . . . can go from Memphis soul toJames Brown funk to Sonny Boy Williamson-style harp blues in a single song, andthen turn around and lay down a funky reggae strut or a Latin groove”(Berkshire Living)
