In 2009 Paul Solis-Cohen of Catskill Art and Office Supply donated paints and art materials to the arts community in Cuba. One recipient was artist Osmany Piedra, of Havana. Now some of Osmany's works on paper are on display at Catskill Art and Office Supply on Mill Hill Road for the month of December.
Osmany Piedra is a native of Baracoa, Cuba, graduated from art school in Santiago de Cuba and from the Institute of Design (ISDI) in Havana. As well as vigorously pursuing his painting, he recently returned from a Spanish tour with the contemporary dance company of Rosario Cardenas,and their performances of "Zona Cuerpo".
Catskill Art's gift has come back to Woodstock just in time for the holidays.
