Peaceful, idyllic country vacation rental

If you daydream about relaxing lakeside, gazing out at the still water, with no sound but birds and the occasional ripple from a rising fish, Blue Heron Lakehouse is the house for you. The bluestone terrace among the pines, down by the water’s edge will be your favorite hangout when you’re not out on the rowboat fishing, or just taking a spin around the lake. And of course there’s nothing like swimming in the crystal clear lake water. But don't take our word for it. The November 2014 issue of Philadelphia Magazine says,: Sit in an Adirondack chair, sip steaming coffee, and overlook the lake that's steps from your cabin's back door. There's a canoe for you to use, and, come winter, Rockwellian ice-skating, plus skiing at nearby Big Bear. This simple house is nicely appointed (sharp knives! At a vacation rental!) The living room has two large sliding glass doors leading out to a balcony, so the water is a presence whether indoors or out. Out on the balcony is a dining area where you can enjoy meals prepared on the gas barbecue. The large living room / kitchen is open plan, and flooded with light. Three bedrooms are down the hall, two with queen beds and one with two twins. The master bedroom has its own bath. For some renters, winter is the favored season at Blue Heron Lakehouse, combining quiet seclusion and traditional winter landscapes with plenty of local activities. The house has myriad winter sports activities right outside the back door. The lake freezes solid in winter, providing first rate ice skating (until it's covered in snow), and after the first snow, cross country skiing is also top notch on the lake and in the nearby woods. If downhill is your thing, Ski Big Bear is only about 20 minutes away. While you may never want to leave, there are a number of charming towns nearby with activities, eateries and shopping, that will provide fun outings. For rates and availability, please visit www.redcottageinc.com/heron
