the Commons Gallery invites you to take a trip to Spain while it hosts an exhibition of paintings by Windham artist, Jonathan Wilner during the month of October.
Wilner, a New York City transplant, began his art studies at The Art Students League and since moving to the Catskills has been outside in our mountainous environment painting en plein air. http://artbywilner.com/biography.html
He has taken lessons learned from the painting outside inside into his studio where he has internalized a recent trip to Spain to create paintings depicting its architecture, the human figure in the streets and alleys, and capturing the ambiance of Old Madrid and some of the medieval cities to the North. Wilner says, “These are impressions through the eyes of a ‘visitor’ who has taken snapshots in ‘memory’, of the streets, parks, edifices, and city walls with the intent of bringing them back to like in my paintings.” http://artbywilner.com/biography.html
“Oils by Jonathan Wilner” will be exhibited at the Commons Gallery, the Commons, 785 Main Street, Margaretville, NY, Friday Oct. 2 through Saturday, Oct 31, Friday-Sunday, 11 – 5pm. There will be an artist’s reception Saturday, October 10, 2:00 to 5:00 pm.
