Adults ages 55 and up are invited to register for The Open Eye Theater’s new Artful Ages Acting Workshop, beginning Thursday, April 21, 2016, and running through June 16. The workshop will meet on Thursday evenings from 6:00 – 8:30 pm, for 6 sessions: April 21; May 5, 26; June 2, 9, 16, at The Open Eye Theater, 960 Main Street, Margaretville, NY. Open Eye producing artistic director Amie Brockway will lead the workshop.
“This is an opportunity for older adults to explore plays and characters from Shakespeare to Broadway to fresh-out-of-the-computer new work. In a low-stress environment, actors will find keys to unleashing creative expression, discover their performance skills, and build on them. They’ll have the fun of playing all sorts of different roles,” says Ms. Brockway
Though the workshop is designed to be useful and fun for experienced actors, no previous acting experience is needed. All that is required is a desire for adventure and play, and to build on existing skills and develop new ones. Workshop sessions will be held at The Open Eye Theater, 960 Main Street, Margaretville NY, which is fully accessible. There are handicap parking spaces in front, adjacent to the entrance ramp. Lots of additional parking is in the rear.

Tuition for the series of six workshop sessions is “Pay What You Can.” Checks may be made out to The Open Eye Theater, and mailed with the registration form, or brought to the first session on April 21.
