This Saturday, the Roxbury Arts Group is hosting a one-woman show of tales about growing up in a Texan beauty shop. As you can see above, Faye Lane's "Beauty Shop Stories" revolve around moon pies, deep-fried southern accents, and warm memories of old ladies who pack heat.

Our contributor Simona David has written about the show in this week's O-town Scene, describing how RAG's program director Maggie Cullen caught Lane's show at the Fringe NYC show last summer and had to bring it to Roxbury.

With her Texas lilt and gentle demeanor, writer-performer Faye Lane serves up a Southern-fried one-woman show theater piece that's sweeter than banana Moon Pies and RC Cola   in  “Beauty Shop Stories”, coming to the Roxbury Arts Center on Saturday, March 12, 7:30 pm ... Celebrate winter’s end with this warm and funny evening at RAG.   There will be door prizes and a special raffle for an overnight stay and spa package at The Emerson Hotel, proceeds of which will be shared with  Delaware Opportunities Safe Against Violence program.       $15/ $12 seniors.
