Prattsville to hold community workshops this weekend

Beginning Friday, November 4, and continuing through Sunday, November 6, workshops will be held to develop long term recovery plans for Prattsville. Residents are completing a survey (available online as well) and are asked to join one of three resident-led subcommittees: economic development, housing, or community services.

Please add your voice to Prattsville's vision. All property owners should receive a community survey in the mail. Copies of the survey are available at the Town Hall trailer and at the Great American Supermarket. The survey is also on the web at

You may return your completed survey to the Town trailer or in the box near the cash registers at the Great American; or mail it to the Town Hall, Main Street, Prattsville, NY 12468 (please mark the envelope "SURVEY")
Please attend the Community Workshops: Discuss Your Vision
These community workshops will identify a vision, graphics and projects to guide rebuilding
Friday, November 4, 2011 -- At 6:30pm at the Firehouse for a Community Workshop to discuss your wishes.
Saturday November 5, 2011 -- Between 9:00am-8:00pm at the Firehouse (2nd Floor) when the design team will work on concept plans. Please stop by between 2:00pm and 5:00pm to critique the work and talk to planers and designers.
Sunday, November 6, 2011 -- At 6:30pm at the Firehouse for a presentation of the initial concepts for the future based on resident wishes for review and comment.
Monday November 14, 2011 -- Between 4:00pm and 7:00pm at the Firehouse for an open house to present the refined concepts for residents to review and comment.
Please Join a Subcommittee: Develop the Rebuild Prattsville Plan
Following the open house, three resident-led subcommittees will identify the programs and projects to include in the REBUILD PRATTSVILLE PLAN. They will address:
- Economic Development: Business and Main Street Revitalization, Tourism, Municipal Buildings
- Housing: Senior Housing, Rental Housing, Affordable Family Housing, Single-Family Housing
- Community Services: Youth and Senior Services, Parks, Recreation, Museum/Cultural services.
