Flood and storm warnings across the Catskills

At 3:34pm, the National Weather Service in Albany issued a flood advisory for an area that includes parts of Greene and Ulster Counties, including the city of Catskill, until 9:30pm:

* UNTIL 930 PM EDT

* AT 332 PM EDT SCATTERED SLOW MOVING HEAVY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE OCCURRING ACROSS THE ADVISORY REGION. RADAR INDICATES THAT ONE TO TWO INCHES OF RAIN HAD ALREADY FALLEN IN ISOLATED LOCATIONS. WITH SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE THROUGH THE AFTERNOON...SOME LOCATIONS COULD GET ENOUGH RAINFALL TO PRODUCE MINOR FLOODING.

A flash flood warning was also declared for southeastern Sullivan County until 6pm:

* AT 249 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED AN AREA OF EXCESSIVE RAINFALL OVER THE WARNED AREA.

* LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO BLOOMINGBURG... THE SHAWANGUNK KILL... PINE KILL AND BASHER KILL STREAMS.

RAINFALL TOTALS OF 3 TO 6 INCHES THROUGH 4 PM WILL BE ENOUGH TO CAUSE RAPID FLOODING OF STREAMS AND POOR DRAINAGE AREAS.

And a thunderstorm warning for north central Sullivan and south central Delaware Counties was issued around 4:30pm, though it is expired now:

...Strong Thunderstorm Will Affect North Central Sullivan And South Central Delaware Counties... * At 430 PM EDT...National Weather Service Doppler Radar Indicated A Strong Thunderstorm Capable Of Producing Very Heavy Rain And Small Hail. This Storm Was Located Near Hazel...And Moving Northeast At 5 Mph. * The Strong Thunderstorm Will Be Near... Livingston Manor At 445 PM EDT... Joscelyn At 450 PM EDT... Parksville At 500 PM EDT... Parkston At 510 PM EDT... Lewbeach And Debruce At 530 PM EDT... This Storm Has Rainfall Rates Of 1 To 3 Inches An Hour. Total Rainfall Amounts Will Be 1 To 2 Inches. This Storm Has The Potential To Produce Very Heavy Rain...And Could Cause Localized Flooding Of Roads And Poor Drainage Areas.
