Buttercup is happy to say it was GANGBUSTERS last weekend. First time people had to wait for a table (Sunday). We were very happy to meet and make new friends, from locals who thanked us for being there, to travelers from Florida, DC & Pennsylvania. (Becky & Mark whose teas we hope to sell soon.)
This week's specials will include pork 4 ways (pulled pork sandwich being one of them), some Mexican specialities that rely on poblanos and mole, the very popular Ploughman's Lunch with cheese just picked up today from Harpersfield's Cheese.
This is a farm you should visit! What a beautiful drive OMG. The owner couldn't be more gracious and gave us a tour of the cheese 'cave'. After cutting into wheels of two different cheeses and tasting them, we bought more than we went for (10 POUNDS!), including some caraway for at home.
New desserts will include lemon & chocolate tarts, almond croissants and banana muffins.
Mexican corn chowder & cold velvety Vichysoisse, my favorite.
Buttercup, the new little restaurant in Andes, needs a dishwasher/cleaner. We are small so there is not loads of dishes to be washed. More important is the cleaning at end of the day. Hours are negotiable. We are open Thursday - Sunday 11 - 4, your hours would be approximate 1 - 5 . Would accept 2 or 3 days but Sunday is required. BUTTERCUP has officially opened! Big happy crowd today, people singing Dear Little Buttercup in house! We are serving amazing food such as house-smoked ribs & chicken, house corned beef on rye, local smoked salmon with lentils and poached egg. Just to name a few!. Fresh borscht with sour cream, lovely unusual salads, and house-baked pastries & cookies. Chris' coffee, Jane's ice cream. Delicious food, sweet atmosphere.
