Tonight's Show: Mushrooms in the Forest


On tonight's show we will be discussing Mushrooms in the Forest.  Guest
Speaker Loren Graham from Treadwell, Delaware County will be digging deep
into the mysterious world of mushrooms.  Mushrooms are one of the least
known aspects of our forests, since their presence is so unpredictable.
Their unpredictability is what makes it challenging in hunting for a tasty

What's going on in the Forest?


A cold front came in a couple of days ago and blew in some cool, low
humidity air.  It's beautiful out there.  Green berries are beginning to
form on ginseng, while apples are just starting to ripen.  Blackberries are
early this year and in many places are ripe for the picking.  From what I
have seen, the acorn crop seems bleak this year with few sightings of green
acorns.  Streams are about as warm as they're going to get and make for
great swimming this time of year.
