More Portrait Subjects Announced for RECORD BREAKER Opening at Orphic Gallery

 

Artist Greg Frederick has announced more of the subjects of his stunning portraits for his opening at the Orphic Gallery next Saturday, May 25th, and it reads like a veritable pantheon of rock & roll and popular music for the last 60 years.  These portraits, meticulously crafted from recycled vinyl, will compose the main exhibit in the central exhibition space of the gallery.  Believe it or not, there will be additional portraits on display in ante-rooms of the Orphic Gallery.  You can expect further names to be revealed in the near future.

Start your grill season with some beef kabobs from the sirloin tip, and NY strip steaks on special!  For this Saturday, and next weekend, Beef Kabobs (normally $8.50/pound) are the special price of $7/lb.  NY Strip Steaks, specially priced at $13/lb. (normally $16/lb). Also, the monthly May special of whole frozen chickens at 10% off continues.  Remember, Memorial Day weekend is when our new 2013 pricing begins, so these are the best prices you will see.

This Saturday, May 18, is the last of the seasonal "soup kitchen." The weather is predicted to be lovely, so come on over, sit at our picnic tables and enjoy o simple lunch of our fabulous Oink and Moo chili or quiche and salad, baguettes and rhubarb crisp.  11am-3pm, as usual.

Then, Memorial Day weekend, we begin the fifth season of the Bees Knees Cafe, open both Saturday with a lunch menu and Sunday with a brunch buffet.  Woo hoo!  Help us kick off a great season!

A new face at the Pop-Up Market

There will be a new face at the Pre-Memorial Day Holiday Pop-Up Farmers' Market on Thursday, May 23, 2013. For the first time, Yolanda Trappenburg, Independent Mary Kay consultant, will have an informational booth on skin care and glamour. She will also offer product demonstrations.

Ms. Trappenburg has started her own "buy local" campaign and will donate a percentage of her sales to local not-for-profits.

This edition of the Holiday Pop-Up Farmers' Market is open from 3:30 to 6 PM at the Railroad Station, 21 Railroad Avenue, Stamford, NY.

A cooking demo & tasting by mother-daughter team Mary Elizabeth Roarke & Chef Nicole Roarke . The talented Country Comfort Series authors and mother-daughter team, Mary Elizabeth and Chef Nicole Roarke shared recipes and the stories behind them from their cookbook "Cooking Across America."

Published by Hatherleigh Press in nearby Hobart. Chef Nicole taught us chef's tricks of the trade as she demonstrated gluten-free and vegetarian recipes featuring regional and local spring ingredients. The tastings were served after the talk and immensely enjoyed by our guests.
